CHRISSY JERBI / SIX ONE EIGHT STUDIO

Chrissy is a Baltimore-based pattern designer and illustrator.  She draws inspiration from a spectrum of organic forms, particularly flora and fauna. The natural engineering of everything from flower petals and tree branches to the highly sophisticated skeletal systems of humans and animals have long been a fascination.

Originally a graphic design student, Chrissy took a patterns class in her junior year at the Maryland Institute College of Art and was immediately smitten. She switched her major and completed her patterns-based thesis a year later. She graduated from MICA in 2016.

Her time outside the studio is spent on the hiking trails by day, and in a number of Baltimore's live music venues by night. She is obsessed with Vienna Secession-style pattern and poster design, Art Deco and Hollywood Regency home decor, and collects vintage dishes and glassware from local thrift shops.
